In 2010 FREEDOM FOR ALL NEPAL (FAN) was working informally and unorganized to ensure that ordinary citizens should feel the privilege of human rights, social justice, good governance, and democratic values. Freedom For All Nepal is now presenting itself among various organizations working in the same field. We aim to promote good governance, economic prosperity, social justice, and development by ending all forms of discrimination based on the principles of proportionality, inclusiveness, and participation. It follows the footing of those organizations which envision the rule of law and sustainable development by building an egalitarian society and distributing the benefits of inclusive democracy in a proportionate, inclusive, participatory, and equitable manner. The organization will support zero-tolerance against corruption by promoting cooperation, coexistence, mutual accountability, and coordination through the proper mobilization of local resources. Now it shares the spirit with various other organizations working in the field of human rights to support the state's commitment to guarantee accessible and quality service delivery and result-oriented work by ensuring public participation, accountability, and transparency. Intending to establish the values and beliefs of human rights in society as a culture, we are constantly working in this field alongside our human rights movement.
In the initial phase, we advocated for human rights, social justice, and good governance. We have also discussed with political parties, various organizations, and stakeholders regarding the idea of secularism in Nepal. Therefore, we conducted the Mechi-Mahakali Campaign. Owing to the learning and experience of the Mechi-Mahakali Campaign, our organization was duly registered in the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, since 2068 BS with a vision to work in the human rights sector. From then onwards, this organization has been working to establish the values and norms of human rights in society.
At a time when all human rights values, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the laws of all countries, are being upheld in Nepal, it is imperative to integrate all aspects of human rights into the mainstream and create an environment under which the state can take guardianship of all communities. To fulfill the same necessity, this organization has been conducting various public awareness programs in the community focusing on law, human rights, citizen's responsibility towards the state, and further programs on the responsibility of the state to respect and guarantee human rights. Freedom For All Nepal has been working on issues of direct concern to its citizens with the belief that the foundation of a new Nepal can only be laid by the state's common vision and policy of practicing and safeguarding the freedoms of human beings in accordance with their beliefs and values.
Similarly while working for the upliftment of all classes, professions, castes, tribes, all kinds of minority communities, keeping the rights and interests intact in accordance with the national laws and international conventions and norms ratified by the state, the Freedom For All Nepal has traveled a long journey to become what it is today. We hope that your warm love, appropriate advice, and suggestions will always inspire us to move in the right direction regarding human rights and the concerns of citizens.
The organizational structure of the organization will be central, state, and district. This is a membership-based non-governmental organization. Its central office is located at Putalisadak-28, Kathmandu. At present, we have a 13-member central committee.
The beautiful side of modern human civilization is justice, equality, human dignity, and freedom. In order to develop human rights as a national culture, the state and its citizens must fulfill their duties and responsibilities. Then only a civilized and dignified society can be built. Human rights values and beliefs are very crucial for building a democratic culture.
The values of human rights always remain above the constitution and law of any country. All the organs of the state should be inclined to protect and respect the unwavering faith, belief, and self-respect of the citizens. A conscious civil society is required to establish the values of human rights and the sustainable management of democracy. Human rights can be developed as a culture only through the efforts of a conscious civil society. This is the main philosophy of the campaign (FAN).
It's conscious of acquiring and consuming all rights, including economic, social, cultural, civil, political rights, and always remain free to enjoy rights by developing human rights as a culture among the common citizens to build a fearless and civilized society.
Human right is established through the interrelationship between the individual and the state. The state's understanding and implementation of human rights and an individual's positive attitude towards human rights can only develop a civilized and dignified society. Our organization aims to develop the same campaign.
In accordance with the universal recognition of human rights in the community, this organization will work to formulate concepts, goals, objectives, values, and strategies for the protection of human rights, promotion of good governance, and establishment of a prosperous society with social justice.
A fair, neutral, dignified, and respected human society where everyone can develop their personality with human rights, personal self-respect and complete freedom, and move forward with a sense of social justice.
FAN, in partnership with various sectors and bodies of government carries out social movement for the promotion of human rights, social justice, and good governance. We also promote the use of socio-political and economic rights through various public awareness programs, journalism, human rights education and communication technology.
