Social justice

Social justice means that everyone’s human rights are respected and protected. Everyone has equal opportunities. Social justice depends on four essential goals: human rights, access, participation, and equity. Social justice can’t be achieved without these four principles.Social justice is the justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society. Justice concerns obligation of individuals to community and its end of the common good. The major components of the social justice are equitable society, distribution of profit/loss without prejudice, healthy social relation, participation in decision making process, accountable government, decentralization of government, free and fair judicial system, easy and equal access to information, services, and resources. 

Social justice is the one of the thematic areas of Freedom For All Nepal (FAN). It works for poor and marginalized community in Nepal. FAN will implement different programmes to reduce discrimination and traditional harmful practices in Nepal. It enhances the capacity of Dalit, women, people with disability, geographically excluded community, and religious minorities. Also, the organization will conduct advocacy efforts for social justice for excluded communities and people. whereas social justice is the fundamental rights of the people as stated in constitution of Nepal.

Our movement

FAN, in partnership with various sectors and bodies of government carries out social movement for the promotion of human rights, social justice, and good governance. We also promote the use of socio-political and economic rights through various public awareness programs, journalism, human rights education and communication technology.
